2003 Primary Program





Children enter chapel single file from both entrances singing:

"THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST".



CHILD #1:

"Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness!"

(D&C 128:19)



SONG A: "THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST" (All primary children)



CHILD #2 :

Our primary theme this year is "I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints." For our primary presentation today, we are going to share with you what we have learned in primary this year.



SCRIPTURE # 1: "And they who were baptized in the name of Jesus were called the church of Christ." (3 Nephi 26:21)



CHILD #3:

Heavenly Father loves and blesses us. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to be our Savior.



CHILD #4:

Jesus organized His Church. He ordained others to the priesthood to act in His name. The New Testament teaches us about Christ's Church. When people began to change Jesus' teachings, many fell away from His Church. The Apostles were killed, and the Lord withdrew His priesthood authority.



SCRIPTURE #2: "For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (D&C 115:4)



SONG B: " ON A GOLDEN SPRINGTIME"



CHILD #5:

In the First Vision, Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. He learned that Christ's true Church would be restored.



ALL CHILDREN:

Stand and repeat the First Article of Faith. (Or sing it if they know the song)



CHILD #6:

Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet. He translated the Book of Mormon, which contains the fulness of the gospel.



CHILD #7:

The priesthood, ordinances, and doctrines were restored by heavenly messengers and revelation.





CHILD #8:

We made and keep covenants when we become members of the Church.



SCRIPTURE #3: "All of you are children of the most High" (Psalm 82:6)

CHILD #9:

I am a child of God and lived in heaven before I cam to earth.

CHILD #10:

I am a child of God blessed with a divine nature.

CHILD #11:

I am a child of God. He has given me spiritual gifts and talents.

CHILD #12:

I am a child of God. He has given me spiritual gifts and talents.



SCRIPTURE #4: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16)

CHILD #13:

Jesus is the Savior of all mankind. I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.



ALL CHILDREN:

Stand and Repeat or Sing the Fourth Article of Faith.



CHILD #14:

As I have faith, I want to repent and be baptized.



CHILD #15:

I will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. As I choose the right each day, I can return to Heavenly Father.







SCRIPTURE #5: "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." (D&C 1:38)

CHILD #16:

I can be a good example to others by following our Prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley



CHILD #17:

I can become more like Jesus by being a good example to others.



CHILD #18:

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ.. I'll honor his name. I'll do what is right; I'll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim.



SONG F: The Church of Jesus Christ......last line only ....."I'll do what is right; I'll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim."



SCRIPTURE #6: "For behold, this is my work and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39)



SONG G: I Lived in Heaven (Primary children sing first verse, hum 2-3 verses while older children speak them.



CHILD #19:

Jesus is my Savior. Because of Him I can have eternal life.



ALL CHILDREN:

Stand and repeat or sing Article of Faith #3.



CHILD #20:

Heavenly Father and Jesus created the earth and all forms of life. I can treat the earth and all living things with respect.



CHILD #21:

Agency is a gift from Heavenly Father. As I choose between right and wrong, I am accountable.



ALL CHILDREN:

Stand and repeat the 2nd Article of Faith.



CHILD #22:

I have been sent to a family to learn to follow Jesus.



SCRIPTURE #7: "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:26)

SONG G: "Lord, I Would Follow Thee"



CHILD #23:

I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere.



CHILD #24:

I can receive answers to my prayers



CHILD #25:

I can learn more about Jesus and His commandments as I read the scriptures.



CHILD #26:

As I follow Jesus, my faith grows.



SCRIPTURE #8: "There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh." (Mosiah 5:8)



SONG H: "Choose the Right Way" (1st verse only")



CHILD #27:

I take the name of Jesus Christ upon me when I am baptized.



CHILD #28:

When I take the sacrament, I renew my baptismal covenants.



CHILD #29:

I promise to keep the Lord's commandments and always remember Him



CHILD #30:

I will use the names of Heavenly Father and Jesus reverently.



SONG I: CHOOSE THE RIGHT WAY (2nd verse only)



CHILD #31:

For 125 years children in Primary have honored Jesus' name.



SCRIPTURE #9: "Thou shalt do that which is right....in the sight of the Lord". (Deuteronomy 6:18)



CHILD #32:

I can know when the Holy Ghost is helping me choose the right.



CHILD #33:

Kindness begins with me.



CHILD #34:

Jesus said love everyone.







CHILD #35:

There's a right way to live and be happy. It is choosing the right every day. I am learning the teachings of Jesus; they will help me and show me the way.

SCRIPTURE #10: "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)



CHILD #36:

Jesus lights the way as my example.



CHILD #37:

I will follow His light and be an example.



SCRIPTURE #11: "And are willing to...stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places: (Mosiah 18:9)



CHILD #38:

I can share the gladness of the gospel with others.



CHILD #39:

I can prepare to be a missionary now.

CHILD #40:

I am grateful for the Savior and the blessings of my membership in His Church.



CLOSING REMARKS: Primary President



CHILD #41:

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ.. I'll honor his name. I'll do what is right; I'll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim.



Because we are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and know who we are, we will strive to live the gospel each day.

Primary children come and stand up front where they can all be seen and heard really well. If they have learned the sign language sing the song through twice and sign it the second time through.

If not signing use, sing the song through once and then say the last line only....with conviction.
