Be Forever

2004 Primary Program

Children enter chapel single file from both entrances singing:

 “FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER”. (CS, 188) They stand in front of their seats until all of the children are in front of their seats. Finish singing the song.

CHILD #1:

“The family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.”

(The Family: A Proclamation to the World, paragraph 1)

CHILD #2 :

Our primary theme this year is “My Family Can Be Forever.” For our primary presentation today, we are going to share with you what we have learned in primary this year.

 SCRIPTURE # 1: “I am a child of God. I know Heavenly Father loves me, and I love Him. I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere. I am trying to remember and follow Jesus Christ.” (Faith in God guidebook, inside front cover)

SONG A: “I AM A CHILD OF GOD” (CS, 2) or “I KNOW MY FATHER LIVES”

(CS, 5) (All primary children)

CHILD #3:

            I lived in heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus before I was born. Heavenly Father and Jesus want us to live again as families in heaven.

CHILD #4:

I am created in the image of God. My body is a temple.

SCRIPTURE #2: “The family is ordained of God” (Proclamation, paragraph7)

SONG B: “ LOVE IS SPOKEN HERE” (CS, 190)

ALL CHILDREN:

            “I have a family here on earth.”

CHILD #5:

            “Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan” (Proclamation, paragraph 7)

CHILD #6:

            “Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness” (Proclamation, paragraph 6)

CHILD #7:

            The priesthood blesses, serves, and strengthens my family.

CHILD #8:

            Have an older child tell why he/she thinks families are important.

 SCRIPTURE #3: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6)

SONG C: “He Sent His Son” (CS, 34) (A group of the older girls)

CHILD #9:

            Before I cam to earth, I chose to follow Heavenly Father’s plan.

CHILD #10:

            Jesus Christ was chosen to be the Savior. He atoned for my sins.

CHILD #11:

Because Jesus was resurrected, I will be resurrected.

CHILD #12:

Choosing the right and following Jesus will help me return to Heavenly Father.

 SCRIPTURE #4: “Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Proclamation, paragraph 7)

CHILD #13:

The Holy Ghost blesses my family and helps me follow Jesus Christ.

CHILD #14:

I can follow Jesus by being a peacemaker.

            Obeying Heavenly Father’s commandments and following Jesus helps my family be happy.

CHILD #16:

            I Feel My Savior’s Love and I am willing to share it with others.

CHILD #17:

Fathers preside, provide, and protect.

CHILD #18:

Mothers nurture their children.

CHILD #19:

Children honor and obey their parents and help one another.

CHILD #20:

            Extended families led support when needed.

SCRIPTURE #6: “And ye will not have a mind to injure one another, but to live peaceably” (Mosiah 4:13)

    (Primary children sing first verse, hum 2-3 verses while older children speak them.

            How can family prayer strengthen my family?

            How can family scripture study strengthen my family?

CHILD #23:

CHILD #25:

Being baptized and keeping my baptismal covenants can help me prepare to receive the blessings of the temple.

CHILD #26:

Being temple worthy now can bless me and my family.

CHILD #27:

My family can be together forever through the covenants and ordinances of the temple.

CHILD #28:

Family history and temple work unite the generations of my family and help me remember my heritage.

SCRIPTURE #8: “Successful families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance and forgiveness” (Proclamation, paragraph 7)

SONG I: “I PRAY IN FAITH” (CS, 14) (Boys sing 1^st verse, girls sing 2^nd verse and then put them together)

CHILD #29:

            Faith in the Lord strengthens me and my family. 

CHILD #30:

            Prayer strengthens me and my family.

CHILD #31:

            Repentance returns me to the Lord’s path.

CHILD #32:

            To be forgiven I must forgive.

SCRIPTURE #9: “Successful families are established and maintained on principles of respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities”. (Proclamation, Paragraph 7)

CHILD #33:

            Showing respect for each other strengthens my family.

CHILD #34:

Showing love and compassion strengthens my family.

CHILD #35:

            Working together strengthens my family.

CHILD #36:

            Participating in wholesome recreational activities helps my family develop unity and love for one another.

SCRIPTURE #10: “What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken,...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same. (D&C 1:38)

CHILD #38:

            Bible prophets teach me how to strengthen my family.

CHILD #39:

            Book of Mormon prophets teach me how to strengthen my family.

CHILD #40:

            Latter-day prophets teach me how to strengthen my family.

CHILD #41:

            The prophet today teaches me how to strengthen my family.

SCRIPTURE #11: “And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me; for good cometh of none save it be of me....I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world” (Ether 4:12)

CHILD #42:

            Keeping the Sabbath day can strengthen my family.

CHILD #43:

            My family is blessed when we remember Jesus Christ.

CHILD #44:

            Heavenly Father planned for Jesus to be born into a family.

CHILD #45:

Heavenly Father planned for each one of us to be born into a family. Families can be together forever through Heavenly Father’s plan and he has shown us how we can.

 Primary children come and stand up front where they can all be seen and heard really well.

Sing the song through and then say the last line only....with conviction.
