"I Believe" Sharing Time
PREPARATION AND SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Obtain one sheet of"The Bee" Scripture Stickersfor each child. You can
order them from www.debanae.net
- Yellow color pencils or high-lighters for each child.
- Be sure that they all bring their scriptures.
- Be prepared for the sharing time.
|
Attention Getter:
- Ask if anyone has ever seen a Bee. Have them describe it to you...color, size, sound etc.
- Then Tell them this story. (It is from the New Era so you will need to paraphrase it to their age but I thought it was perfect)
"Saving the Bees" by Charity Brunson, New Era, Nov. 2003.
- Then tell them this poem.
"I Believe in Jesus by Kimberly Webb, The Friend, Oct. 2003. Talk with them about the poem for a minute.
- Talk with them for a minute about "Believing in Jesus". Here is a wonderful article"Believing in Jesus Christ" from The Friend to get some ideas from.
SCRIPTURE STICKER ACTIVITY:
- Explain that you are going to mark some scriptures about Jesus.
- Have all of the children turn around on their chairs with their scriptures. Give them all a sheet of "I Believe" Scripture Stickers and a colored pencil. Have the scripture references, that came with the stickers, written on the chalkboard and one by one look them up together, (have the teachers and presidency members ready to help find scriptures if needed) read the scripture, highlight it and put the "I Believe" scripture sticker in the margin or across the top of the page.
|
CONCLUSION:
- Bare your testimony.
- Sing "I'm Trying to be like Jesus".
