Quarterly Activity Ideas

PRIMARY QUARTERLY ACTIVITY DAYS
Primary Resource Room

Purpose

1. Plan a variety of activities for the entire year.
2. Choose activities that involve children in meaningful ways.
3. Encourage children who do not attend Primary to participate; occasionally, include parents and families.
4. Work within the budget for each activity and receive priesthood approval; keep costs minimal and activities simple.
5. Get help from the activities committee and others in the ward who may have talents or experience.
6. Limit activities that require transportation of children to places other than the meetinghouse.
7. Consider the following planning effective activity days:
   • Phyisical Activities: Develop physical and social skills through games and parties, emphasizing teamwork.
     
   • Cultural Activities: Preserve family tradition and cultural heritage, exposing children to good art, music, dance and drama.
     
   • Creative Activities: Encourage self-expression and new experiences using a variety of methods and materials.
     
   • Service Activities: Help children develop a concern for others through giving, sharing, and doing.
