"I Believe"
Mid-Week Activity

WHAT DO WE WANT TO HAVE HAPPEN:

Preparation and Supplies Needed:

1. Make the handout and give to each Young Woman on Sunday.
2. Obtain one sheet of "The Bee" Scripture Stickersfor each person. You can order them from www.debanae.net
3. Bring yellow crayons, color pencils, or high-lighters to mark the scriptures.
4. Have the young women bring their scriptures.
5. Have the refreshments ready.
6. Make the handout to give to them as a reminder.

ACTIVITY:

• Opening Prayer
  
  
• Write a few easy math formulas on the board. (3+4=?, 10-8=?, 4+4=?, 3+3+3=?) Have a few of the girls come up and write the answers. Talk with them about how easy those formulas are. Probably because they have been doing it for a few years in school. Tell them you want to share with them another very easy formula.
  
  
• This is a spiritual "formula" for each of you to use in your life.
  
  
• Read D&C 90:24:
  "Search diligently, pray always, and be believing, and all things shall work together for your good"
  
  
• Search, Pray, Believe, and everything will be alright. Search the scriptures, always have a prayer in your heart, and we will be able to say "I Believe". This is our quest. To say "I Believe".
  
  
• Read this quote from Pres. Hinckley, (Ensign, June 2000, 21)
  "Believing in what? Believing in God, our Eternal Father, as the Father of our spirits, as our leader, as our king, Believing in the Lord, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, our Savior, our Lord. Believing in the restored gospel, which has come to earth in a miraculous and marvelous manner. Cultivate in your hearts a living and vibrant testimony of the Restoration of the gospel. Believe in the Book of Mormon. Be not faithless in the knowledge that the priesthood of God has been restored to the earth. Believe in goodness. Believe in yourselves. Believe that each of you is a child of God with a divine birthright."
  
  
• We want to believe all of these things for ourselves. In order to do this we need to search diligently and pray always.
  
  
• Read this wonderful story from the New Era. "The Search".

SCRIPTURE STICKER ACTIVITY:

• We are going to mark some scriptures tonight that will help us get started. As you find the scripture reference in your scriptures, highlight it in yellow first and then put the sticker along the top or down the margin of the page. Then in your own words write a few words of your own. The scripture sticker will say "I Believe". You can either leave it at that or put your own thoughts down.
  
  
• Mark the three scriptures that are at the end of the story and the rest of the references are in your instructions that came with your stickers.
  
  

CONCLUSION:

• Remind them of the formula that we talked about at the beginning and give them the handout to put in their scriptures or room.
  
  
• Sing "I Believe in Christ"
  
  
• Closing Prayer

REFRESHMENTS:

Homemade rolls and "HONEY Butter" sounds good to me.
