"YW Theme" Mutual Activity

Help the young women focus on and understand the YW Theme better with an added emphasis on "Strengthen home and family"..

Make a Y.W. Theme invitation for each young women and her mother. You can print off the Yw Theme Card here!! Scroll down to the template. (be sure to read the instructions.) Then you can run them back through your computer to put the invitation information on the inside of the card.
You can print off the Yw Theme Page here to give to each young women!! It looks really extra nice if you print it on a heavier paper with tiny gray specs in it. But it is very pretty just on a heavier white paper too.
Color Tint Value Stickers from DebaNae's at www.debanae.net for each young women to add to their poster.
Have a table and chairs set up and enough scissors for each young women.
Have someone prepared for the mini-lesson.
Prepare a "YW Theme Poster" for them to see.

Tell the Young Women this story "Marking My Place" by Kathryn Moore, New Era, March 2000, 27.
This is a very wonderful talk ""Stand as a Witness" by Sister Nadauld, Ensign, May 2000. Read through it and choose those highlights that would most benefit your young women and their mothers.
After you have visited with them ask them to listen to your next question and ask them to stand as they decide. "Who will stand for Truth and Righteousness"?

Now tell them that you are going to do an activity for them to hang in their room so they can always have a reminder to "Stand for Truth and Righteousness."
Ask the young women and their mothers to sit together around the table. Give each young women a "YW Theme Poster" and one of each of the "YW Value Stickers". Show them a "YW Theme Poster" that you have prepared for them to see and give them plenty of time to finish their project. This is a great way for a mother and daughter to spend a little time together. It is so needed in our hectic world.

Express your appreciation to the mothers for attenting and read this quote from Sister Nadauld, Ensign, May 2002, 94.
"As daughters of God,... all of you have been blessed with many talents and gifts. One of the most meaningful gifts is your ability to “strengthen [your] home and family,”...
