CTR Mutual Activity

PREPARATION AND SUPPLIES NEEDED:

  1. Make an invitation for each girl. (You can order some CTR postcards from www.debanae.net and write the info on the back)
  2. CTR Scripture Stickers from DebaNae's at www.debanae.net for each girl. (You may want to visit with the Y.M. President about sharing the cost and doing the activity for the boys.)
  3. Red or yellow color pencils or high-lighters for each person.
  4. Be sure that they all bring their scriptures.
  5. Be prepared for the mini-lesson.
  6. Refreshments

In 2 Nephi it says "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men: (2 Nephi 31:20; see also For the Strength of Youth, 40-42). In the Strength of Youth book page 40 it says "The standards presented in this pamphlet will help you make correct choices. Review them often and ask yourself, 'Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?' To help you become all that the Lord wants you to become, get on your knees each day...read the scriptures daily,...remember and keep the covenants you made when you were baptized...be true to the Lord...be humble...." you can follow Christ by doing these things...by Choosing the Right. We all learned this when we were in primary, just like we did this song, with different words of course".

    Talk with them about the things that we sang in this song are some of the things that we should be doing to press forward with a streadfastness in Christ.

    By Choosing the right we are asking ourselves "Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?"

SCRIPTURE STICKER ACTIVITY:

  1. Explain to the girls that you are going to mark some scriptures about Choosing the Right.

  2. Have all of the girls sit around a big table with their scriptures. Give them all a sheet of "CTR" Scripture Stickers and a colored pencil. Have the scripture references written on the chalkboard and one by one look them up together, read the scripture, highlight it and put a CTR scripture sticker in the margin. Leave plenty of time for this part of the activity. You don't want to hurry them.

CONCLUSION:

  1. Visit with the girls and bare your testimony.

  2. Sing "Choose the Right" for the closing song.
