Sunday Lessons
Click here for a quick reference from the General Young Women Leaders
to help you teach young women in a manner that allows the Holy Ghost to testify of Jesus Christ.
Teaching is one of my greatest loves. There are so many things you can do with a
lesson. You always start with an "Attention Getter" This will get the attention of the YW
°Ü
° and then you
can go on with the lesson.
Be sure and involve the Young Women in
the lesson. Don't just read it from the manual.
Don't leave out the scriptures, they are the
most important part.
Always conclude your lesson by tying it all together and share your
testimony often.
Last but not least, you may want to give them a handout to remind them
through the week what they have learned in that lesson. It is not necessary and we can go
overboard but it's nice to give them something as a reminder.
The lesson from the manual and the extra resources are included in each
of these lessons.
It is my hope that you will be able to benefit
from my help. It comes deep from my heart that it such an important responsibility to teach
the youth the Gospel. The ideas that are here are from the YW Manual and the Church
Magazines. I take ideas from them to turn into an activity or handout or lesson enrichment
sometimes. I believe very strongly in this.
The Gospel is taught in the manuals. We just
need to let the Spirit into our hearts as we teach from it. There are wonderful resources
in the "The Friend", "New Era" and the "Ensign". The General Board has told us to use
these to add a little to our lessons if we feel the need.
The lessons that are in the manuals are the meat of the lesson.
We need to use them every week.
Good Luck in your calling. (And don't forget to have
fun and enjoy the young women!! that is a very big part of working with the youth).
